Ideas For Spring

  • We explore what has been happening in our yard over the winter. With the snow melting, we discover owl pellets (small balls of fur and bones discarded by the owl's meals). We discover trails through the grass of mice and voles traveling under the snow. We discover where the rabbits have lived all winter by discovering lots of rabbit poo.
  • The Zoo tells us the new babies will be born soon. We love Zoo Babies!
  • We start to clean out our clothes that we have grown too tall for, and clean out our belongings to give to charity. Other families may enjoy receiving our gently used sports uniforms that do not fit anymore.
  • We get ready for approaching sports seasons. Baseball cleets, pump up flattened footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls. They deflate over the winter.
  • We visit the Humane Society to see the puppies and kittens that come in the spring. (We already own pets, so we plan on just giving the animals at the Humane Society some attention).
  • We go through our books to donate to charity, to the school library or to younger friends.
  • We figure out what shoes will work best for muddy weather. Do we need to get rain boots that fit?
  • Magazines that have accumulated can go to clinic waiting rooms.

Huge thanks to Stacy for contributing these great ideas!!
